For multiple variable speed drives or other multiple three phase non linear loads it is often possible to utilise ‘phase shift’ transformers to configure quasi-multi-pulse systems, up to 48 pulse depending on the number of discrete drives or other non linear loads. The optimum performance, subsequent degree of phase shifting by load and transformer ratings depends on the given application.
